How would you describe the Innovation Awards to someone outside the tech industry?
It is the highest award that recognizes Ohio companies for their Leadership and Innovation in Technology and focuses positive attention to Ohio's Technology community.
How has winning an Innovation Award impacted you and/or your Company?
Wall Street Recognition by State of Ohio - Ventech and myself were recognized as a successful company and entrepreneur in the state of Ohio - "The state of Perfect Balance". Guess what... "We are getting calls from all over the US and the rest of the world and when they know we are a TechColumbus Innovation Award Winner... they are intrigued to know more about Ventech and our Innovation Award".
Market Visibility - We have been under the radar, working from our closets, literally working on very limited opportunities, and, since the Innovation Award recognition... here we go... We don't need introductions about us in the community. Our clients are pleased with this recognition. Our new clients and staff have a reason to say "WOW, We like you guys and would like to work with and for Ventech".
Our Team's Personal Satisfaction - I have been an entrepreneur since age 19. I am talking from a one man army to about 150 Ventechian's (A Ventech staff is a Ventechian!) today. It gives me and my team great personal satisfaction and an assurance that we are on the right path.
Social responsibility - A major impact in my heart and mind is to have Ventech help the technology community in Central Ohio continue to move forward and to see the dream of becoming the "Silicon Valley of Mid West" come true in the next 5 years. I am personally involved in several new and existing initiatives that are sending a positive vibration to the rest of the world with this goal in mind.
Could you and/or your company have achieved this level of market awareness and exposure by other means?
No Way! We may have been recognized thru media ads and other means of marketing, but not to the extent of what we have gained recognition after we received the Innovation Award. In short, We have greatly reduced our 3 minute introductions to a 30 second introduction in our networking events, our new client engagement meetings and our new employee hiring process.
TechColumbus Innovation Award recognition is a powerful market exposure to any company. If you are a technology company and you are an Innovation Award Winner or Finalist, then you are now known to over a thousand technology people in central Ohio... that's the power of the TechColumbus Innovation Awards.
How would you describe the role of TechColumbus in the support of innovation in Central Ohio and beyond?
TechColumbus' vision to bring technology companies and technology enabled companies together on one platform for effective leadership and innovation is commendable.
There is no doubt in my mind that the power of TechColumbus reaches farther and deeper, with abundant resources and amazing support, to every technology driven company and individual in Ohio.
The best of the best is, TechColumbus produces events throughout the year to showcase needs / recommendations of the community and to share knowledge, wisdom and success stories from community organizations.
Any other comments about the TechColumbus Innovation Awards or TechColumbus organization?
The TechColumbus Innovation Awards and the awards event is A+.
For organizations like TechColumbus, "Change" is essential for success and innovation. Remember, it takes an innovative and new approach to become the "Silicon Valley of the Midwest". We must encourage more leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. Change is something that must be perceived as a "positive" action and not as a "threat".
There are specific areas where we can work with TechColumbus to bring about positive change. I agree it is a continuous process of improvement and not a staged representation. I look forward to working with the TechColumbus team to continue to move things forward and bring about as much change as we all can and should do.
